De Mistura will arrive in Tehran late on Sunday ahead of the sixth round of the Astana talks on Syrian settlement
The senior diplomat will meet with Foreign Minister Zarif and deputy FM for Afriacn and Arab Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansar, who is the negotiator at Astana talks.
He intends to discuss the latest development in the Syrian crisis and the ways to resolve the 6 year old crisis through political negotiations with Mr. Zarif and Mr. Jaberi Ansari.
The new high-level meeting on Syria in Astana is set to take place late in August to be followed by the Geneva talks of September.
